Cartier Bresson

Cartier Bresson was born on August 22, 1908, in France. When he was a kid he won a camera with which he photographed a lot. But only after he was truly discovered in photography through the Hungarian Martin Munkacsi’s photograph, which shows three African descendente males running toward the sea. Years later he founded, together with some friends, the photo agency Magnum. During this period his work became more sophisticated. He has had his photos published in several major magazines.

We can see many similarities between the works of Cartier Bresson, with the genre Flash Fiction. Among them, the fact that the picture has a record of an event, as well as flash fiction. In the photo just a small image to portray a fact, a history, a moment, just as happens in the flash fiction genre, it takes only a few words to portray events. His images do not stop, he captured the exact moment that best expressed the situation, this situation frozen in the image. So it is flash fiction, the narrated are marked, captured through writing.
